The body of a 39 year-old man was found hanging on a tree in Rarieda Sub-county, who is suspected to have committed suicide.
Area assistant chief Maurice Omondi said the deceased’s, George Omondi, body was found hanging with a rope round his neck on a tree near his house.
He said the deceased who had been working in Kisumu town as a casual worker is said to had travelled back home yesterday late in the evening before taking his life.
Chief Omondi further disclosed that the body was found by neighbours who raised an alarm before they called the police.
“The reason behind this unfortunate incident has not yet been established since he did not leave any suicide note,” said Omondi.
The deceased’s wife, Sharon Awuor Omondi, said that his husband left the house for job as usual but never returned in the evening.
“We never had any domestic quarrel that might have prompted him to take away his life,” said the wife.
The chief said that the body has since been removed to Madiany sub-county hospital mortuary to await post-mortem.
