Kapchebor MCA Eric Kipkoskey Bett has become a darling to many residents for his initiative of conducting a cleaning exercise every month on his ward.

In an exclusive interview with Hivisasa, Bett popularly known as a 'watchman' by the locals said due to the nature of his job which requires a total commitment on weekdays, he planned to conduct the cleaning exercise on every first Saturday of the month for easy remembrance.

"We will be doing cleanliness in dirty areas, mostly market places. In the near future, we will incorporate schools and colleges in the monthly exercise," he offers.

The MCA urges residents to join him on every first Saturday of the month dubbed 'the Watchman Cleanup day' to continue with the cleanliness exercise.

"Last Saturday which was the first in this month, I led a team of volunteers to clean Nyagacho market. I also took time to educate the community on waste disposal mechanisms to improve cleanliness in the area," he said adding that he remains committed to his call of service delivery to positively impact the society.

Bett stunned many people during the previous election for his heroic victory after flooring Joel Siele and Energy CS Charles Keters' ally, Hillary Chepkwony.

Bett was a watchman and he campaigned on foot while his competitors drove fancy cars in convoys. After his surprise victory, he celebrated his victory in Kericho town aboard a moti (mkokoteni).
