Joho said all politicians are free to attend the function which will be held in Mombasa, noting it will be about uniting Kenyans and discussing ways to develop the country.

"This coming Saturday I welcome all Kenyans and leaders irrespective of their affiliations to join us at Tononoka Grounds, Mombasa as we further forge our focus on the productive agenda of the BBI that aims to help our nation achieve a shared prosperity," the county boss said.

Murkomen noted Joho's invitation was friendly unlike that of National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed, who set out conditions for allies of Deputy President William Ruto to attend the function.

Junet, who was flanked by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and Kieni MP Kanini Kega, warned Tanga Tanga leaders against causing chaos or disrupting the meeting which will be attended by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator said he was concerned by the remarks made by the trio, but expressed relief following Joho's reassurance.

"That’s the BBI spirit my brother 001. I was concerned about the utterances of my fellow visitors Junet, Sakaja and Kasmallone (Kanini). See you on Saturday. God bless," Murkomen tweeted.

In a press conference in Nairobi on Wednesday, Junet and his colleagues said Tanga Tanga must attend the Mombasa rally with “respect and decorum ready to engage in the debate of uniting Kenyans”.

“But if they are coming to attempt to undermine the meeting or cause chaos, then we are prepared for them. But if they are coming in good faith then we are welcoming them just like other Kenyans because this is an open public meeting,” said the National Assembly Minority Whip.
