The National government through the Ministry of Education has distributed 14.5 million Competency-Based Curriculum textbooks across the country.

According to Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, their aim is to ensure that every pupil no matter where he comes from as long as in public primary school has a textbook.

“As I am talking, we have distributed 14.5 million Competency-Based Curriculum textbooks in which the ration of the student to the textbook is 1:1,” said the Education PS.

Kipsang spoke at Kipkaren Primary school while monitoring CBC Grade 4 delivery and textbook supply on Friday.

He said the government has attained 1:1 pupil to book ratio.

“As a Ministry, we have trained over 200,000 teachers who will help ensure the roll out of Grade Four. We want to ensure our children get quality and not quantity education,” he added.

Kipsang further revealed that come September, teachers pursuing Diploma training will be trained on the competency-based curriculum.
