FKF President Nick Mwendwa has supported the Disciplinary Committee's move to clear former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) CEO Robert Muthomi of any involvement in former Sofapaka FC striker John Avira transfer saga.
However, Mr Mwendwa has said that Mr Muthomi will not be allowed to resume duty after stepping down to allow a free and fair hearing.
"We have cleared [Muthomi] yes but it does not mean he will resume his former role. He had already left the federation by mutual consent so it is just a good decision to clear him," Mwendwa said as reported by Goal.
The former Nakuru All-Stars owner was accused by Sofapaka FC of ingineering Avira's move to Egyptian side Tanta SC before his contract with Kenyan club expired.
The committee state that there was no evidence tabledd against Muthomi proving that he tried to act as an agent for the 22-year-old player.
"Having considered all the evidence laid before it, the Committee is of the view that in the broad sense there was insufficient adduce evidence to the effect that the Respondent abused his office," reads part of the statement as quoted by Goal.
Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa has also been asked to apologise to Mr Muthomi for allegedly terming him a conman.
