Police in Kisumu County are holding a man suspected of shooting dead a fellow motorist after a parking space disagreement.
According to area County Commander Benson Maweu, Daniel Jaoko, a Manager at Ray Green Hotel in Nayamasaria shot down Peter Otieno on Saturday at Polyview Estate.
He said that the 5am incident happened after Otieno, a Coast Bus employee, asked Jaoko who had dropped his girlfriend in the area to remove his car which was blocking his way.
The police boss said that the deceased who wanted to drive out of the hotel was shot three times in the chest, after which he was rushed to the Avenue Hospital where he died.
"We rushed the victim to Avenue Hospital where he succumbed while undergoing treatment,” said Mr Maweu, who added that the bullets interfered with his lungs.
He added the police recovered 15 bullets after conducting a search in the suspect's vehicle and found 42 more in his house in Nyamasaria.
He added that investigations have been launched into the matter, adding that the accused will be charged with shooting an unarmed person.
The suspect is being held at the Kondele Police Station where his vehicle is also being held pending his arraignment.
