Popular Kenyan singer Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee travelled to her home county of Migori where she met Governor Okoth Obado.
The intent of the meeting was to seek partnership with the county government on her upcoming project dubbed ‘the Migori County Empowerment Festival 2019’.

Akothee announced that the project will include a Medical camp, talent search, women empowerment, Agricultural talks and cooperates product showcase.
“Paid Katasi call to my Govonor (sic) Migori County HIS Excellency Hon.Okoth Obado , today at Migori County State House. Great to announce to you that we bringing it big this time round 💪The Great MIGORI COUNTY EMPOWERMENT FESTIVAL 2019 this will be a 3 day event,” Akothee wrote on Instagram.

“Migori county government has partnered with Akothee, an award-winning artiste from Migori county, in organising the Migori County Empowerment Festival (MCEF) 2019. This is a platform for the youth of Migori county to showcase their talents, ideas and creative processes,” read a rejoinder by Migori County Government.
The event which is set to take place before December will also involve Ugandan business lady Zari Hassan and other renowned artistes in the county.
