Professor Magoha warned school heads against arbitrary fee increases.

“I still hear some people say that the CS has increased school fees and I ask myself, where has this come from? If we find somebody in his own wisdom sending a child home, for example, because they have not paid lunch money then we will come down on you like a tonne of bricks,” Magoha said.

In a tweet on Saturday, Didmus Barasa urged chiefs across the country to make sure that the guidelines barring the school heads from raising fees are implemented.

He held the view that the chiefs and their assistants were better positioned to ensure that the guidelines are followed as they are representatives of the national government.

"Chiefs and Ast Chiefs should enforce directives issued by CS. Magoha on Fee guidelines since they represent the office of the President to ensure all laws are followed, " the outspoken legislator's tweet read.

Magoha warned against the raising of schools fees during an Equity Wings to Fly ceremony. He said that all students had the right to access education in spite of their backgrounds.
