Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has warned coastal leaders led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho against politically misleading the region.
According to the governor, coastal leaders need to unite for the sake of developing coastal counties. Speaking yesterday, Samboja warned leaders against pursuing self-interest at the cost of the locals.
"Coastal people have lagged behind for years due to fear and lack of self-belief. The coast has been blessed by God but it is painful when we cannot unite because of egocentricity.
"Brothers and sisters; my friend Joho, you have been an MP, an assistant minister and a governor serving his second term. If you fail us, all our curses will be against you.
Sasa ndugu Joho, utuangushe sisi Wapwani, laana zote twakuwekea wewe)," Samboja said as posted by Ombati Edwin.
Joho has emerged as a potential political point man at the coast. He is among several leaders who will influence the outcome of the 2022 presidential results.
