Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa is bullish about the chances of Harambee Stars featuring in the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking to members of the press on Monday at FKF's offices in Nairobi, Mwendwa contended that football in the continent had evolved to a level where there are no longer big or small teams.
He said his focus as the head of Kenya's football governing body would be ensuring that Kenya features in the next edition of the continental showpiece.
"We are looking forward to put a fight with an ambition and clarity that we want to get back to the cup of nations in 2021.
"There are no longer big teams and small teams in Africa. We can't guarantee it but we want to be there in 2021," the FKF boss said.
Kenya participated in the 2019 AFCON in Cairo for the first time in 15 years and were bundled out at the group stage after winning only one match and suffering two defeats at the hands of Algeria and Senegal.
The 2021 is expected to be staged in Cameroon.
Kenya is pooled in Group G alongside former champions Egypt, Togo and Comoros Island.
