In a tweet Friday night, Ruto insisted that the future of Kenya belongs to over 47 million people based on the last population count.

According to him, Kenyans have no business in waiting for Raila's decisions on what's good for a country including reforms.

"Boss, the last time I checked Kenya was the collective business of the 47m of us. When did it become yours, for the rest of us to be patient with you, as you decide what is good for us!!!!! Yaani sasa imefika hapo? Please, a little decency & respect is not much to ask of you ndugu," Dr Ruto said.

Raila and Ruto have been at loggerheads in recent weeks, with their differences linked to President Uhuru Kenyatta's succession in 2022.

Recently, Raila asked Kenyans to be a little bit patient and allow the Building Bridges Initiative team to make viable proposals for reforms.

“We want to thank Kenyans for standing with us against all odds. It will take time for us to get where we want to be, but we are on track,” said Raila.
