Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa has put on notice gangsters terrorising wananchi at Langas estate in the outskirts of Eldoret town.
This is after Hivisasa highlighted a story of a section of Langas residents decrying increasing insecurity where the locals noted that the area has been a den of criminals.
Speaking to Hivisasa in his office on Monday, Jaldesa said he will ensure that security is enhanced in the region.
“I want to assure Langas residents that we have mapped the insecurity prone areas and that the gangster who has been terrorizing residents will sooner or later be brought to book,” said the Uasin Gishu County commissioner.
He reiterated that the officers will delve deeper through the Nyumba Kumi initiative with the help of chiefs, their assistants and head of security in the region to ensure that insecurity is a thing of the past.
“We will enhance security by increasing the number of police officers who will increase their patrol to ensure people are not terrorized or property stolen in any way. Gangsters should look for an alternative job before we come for their neck,” added Jaldesa.
He further put on notice those selling illegal alcohol saying that the raid will continue until all alcohol dens are phased out noting that they are a major cause of increased insecurity.
Jaldesa maintained that Huruma, Action, Munyaka, Kamukunji, and Langasare are hotspots for criminals.
