Addressing teachers and parents at Itabua Secondary School on Saturday, the lawmaker termed himself the best person to take over from current county boss Martin Wambora.

He said that he has what it takes to lead in the aspired capacity, while cautioning his possible rivals to brace for tough times ahead, predicting a win for himself.

"I have what it takes to win the gubernatorial seat in the next polls," said the MP when he presented a new bus for the school, bought through the constituency development kitty.

Mr Muchiri termed himself a visionary leader who is development oriented, further calling upon area voters to rally behind him as he seeks to better their lives.

Should he realize his candidature, he is likely to face off with among others, nominated Member of Parliament Cecily Mbarire who has made her bid known.

Also likely to be in the race is Lenny Kivuti. The former Senator lost his 2017 gubernatorial bid to Wambora, who being on his second term, cannot take another stab.
