Trade Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has said that he will only record a statement on the alleged plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto before 2022 if a formal complaint is filed against him and his colleagues.
Speaking at his rural home in Muthara, Meru County, on Saturday, Munya said that he is innocent.
The CS said that he has never been a murderer in his life and he will never do such a thing in life.
Munya also said that he has been fixed in the alleged plans but insisted that he will not be shaken at all by the matter.
He went on to remind mourners that he is not a bad person as he has been made to appear after a section of leaders allied to the second in command rooted for his arrest.
"This is all made up. It is a false witness against me, just like Jezebel did to Naboth because she wanted to grab his vineyard. This is a plot against us but God is with us. This is a political plot, he said in part," as quoted by Daily Nation.
Munya has been accused of meeting with his Sicily Kariuki (Health), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and James Macharia (Transport) over the plan to eliminate Ruto.
Munya also said that the allegations will not stop him and other Cabinet Secretaries from meeting to discuss issues of national interest.
