The National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) on Wednesday closed down Trinity Care Center in Ngong town for allegedly polluting the environment.
In a tweet, the environmental agency said the facility was closed down for discharging medical waster into the environment.
According to NEMA, the owners of the facility were arrested during the operation.
"Nema Ag. DG Mamo Boru has today closed Trinity Care Centre in Ngong town and arrested owners for discharging medical waste into environment and not undertaking annual environmental audits," read the tweet.
Addressing the media after the operation, NEMA acting Director General Mamo Boro said the hospital was not compliant within it is area of operation.
He said the facility will remain closed until the management complies with the set regulations.
Boro further noted that NEMA will continue conducting regular operations in the country to ensure compliance with set regulations.
Yesterday, NEMA ordered Dawa limited in Ruaraka to stop all wet processes until they install a working effluent treating plant.
According to NEMA, the company has been releasing treated waste water into a public sewer.
