Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng'eno and Ololung'a MCA Jefferson Langat were on Wednesday dragged to Narok Police Station before being whisked away by detectives.
The two and another MCA were arrested on Tuesday when they stormed Mau Forest to protest the ongoing evictions from Kenya's largest water catchment.
At least 10,000 families are set to be kicked out of the forest but Rift Valley leaders insist that the number could be over 60,000 families.
Confirming the arrests on Tuesday, Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya declared the area a no-go- zone for politicians.
“We don’t want politics in Mau forest, let them address their issues in boardrooms or at press conferences in Nairobi,” Natembeya told The Standard on phone
Already, a section of Rift Valley leaders led by Kipchumba Murkomen has condemned the arrest of the three, insisting that it's a violation of their rights.
"There was /is no moral or legal basis for arresting or even charging Hon. Johana Ngeno and the MCAs. They were going about performing their constitutional duties. The police must not abuse their powers. We are a constitutional democracy not a police state or a dictatorship," he said.
Their fate now remains in the hand of the government. It could not be established immediately where they were being taken and why they are yet to be taken to court.
