TV analyst Brian Mutie has provided his perspective on why Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has been ruffling feathers of late.
Speaking on KTN, Sunday, Mutie contended that the outspoken legislator was keen on being regarded as a kingpin in Central Kenya politics.
"Therefore, for Ndindi to do that, I think as a politician he is also having those ambitions of perhaps elevating himself to that level where once Murang'a sits down to consider a leader within the bigger scope of Muranga as a county, he can stand out and be counted," said the analyst. (1:46-2:05)
This comes just days after the DP Ruto-backing legislator was involved in a scuffle at a church fundraiser in his Kiharu backyard.
He was arrested and later released on a free police bond.
Addressing his supporters after his release, the MP hit out at the police for allowing themselves to be used in a political game of chess.
Nyoro said that his arrest was a scheme to silence him politically.
The young lawmaker drew comparisons between himself and legendary Mount Kenya politician Kenneth Matiba.
According to Mutie, the end of the presidency of Uhuru Kenyatta would create a political vacuum in Central Kenya and scores of politicians from the region were jostling to fill that vacuum.
