Finance Minister Peter Muga is now under pressure to relieve duties a host of revenue collection staff members who are said to be having little or no skills.
While he's not in charge of recruitment, MCAs out him under pressure on Tuesday, arguing that it was his sold responsibly to ensure only competence staff works at the department.
Finance committee chairman Mokaya Maroko said some of those working in the department do not have basic education, a move that could lead to fraud in revenue collection.
The Gesima MCA demanded that changes are made immediately to safeguard integrity of the department. He said the proposals should be implemented immediately.
"It's quite disappointing to see people without basic education manning revenue department. Let the minister take action by replacing them with competent people immediately," he said.
On his part, Magombo MCA Richard Onyinkwa wondered why the government was entrusting such duties on under qualified people yet the county has accountants.
"It's a big joke that a school dropout is in charge of revenue collection yet we have CPA graduates. This mess should be cleared immediately," he added.
Mr Muga took over the finance docket early this year following the resignation of his predecessor Jackline Momanyi. He has been lauded of introducing digital revenue collection method.
Governor John Nyagarama in April ordered payroll purge in which at least 1000 people allegedly recruited irregularly, had their salaries stopped.
