Kipkorir who took the message to his twitter handle on Tuesday accused the senator of 'disrespecting' Kitany and more so 'provoking' the spirits of his (Linturi) father who died on Monday night.

''The Divorce Proceedings btw Mithika Linturi & our girl Marianne Kitany has reached a macabre crescendo... That he has refused to adjourn the case on the death of his father, is taking hatred of our girl to the depths of Hades! Linturi is provoking the ghost of his father,'' tweeted Kipkorir.

Kipkorir's sentiments come after Ms Kitany through her lawyer Danstan Omari pleaded with the court on Tuesday to adjourn the case as she will be engaging on the burial plans of his 'father-in-law' in Igembe.

''On behalf of the petitioner, we are not ready to proceed. She lost her father-in-law, who passed on last night. She is mourning and in the process of going to Meru to be part and parcel of the burial programme.

“She cannot proceed with this matter. I have very strong instructions from her to pass her sincere condolences to her husband and the entire Igembe people,'' said Mr Omari as quoted by Nation.

However, Mr Linturi’s lawyers Muthoni Thiankolu and Prof George Wajakoyah opposed the request adding that Linturi could still continue with the court proceedings even after the incident.

“It is very difficult to speak about death but it is unfortunate to use it. It is presumptuous and unfortunate to use it to determine the issue which is before this court,” Mr Thiankolu said.

The court, however, adjourned until Wednesday due to Ms Kitany's absence.
