Former Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale has rubbished the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Khalwale says that Kenya needs is a better governance system and not the BBI.
"What Kenya and Kenyans need now is not this unlawful lofty en amorphous thing called BBI, but-an independent IEBC, an independent police service, an independent Judiciary, strengthening of Devolution and an end to impunity," he said in a tweet on Thursday.
The BBI team was started by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga to collect Kenyans views on the referendum.
The team ended their national wide trips last week. The full report by the task force is yet to be presented to Uhuru.
Khalwale had on Monday blasted Uhuru and Raila over their push for a referendum.
The outspoken legislator accused the duo of planning to cling on to power through constitutional reforms using the BBI.
"They have controlled the political power and commonwealth of our mamaland since 1963. Now the dynasties want to perpetuate themselves beyond 2022 by forcing the so-called BBI generated Referendum on the Hustlers of Kenya," he said.
Khalwale is among other politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto who are opposing the BBI which they say is bent on creating positions of power for a section of leaders.
