Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has said that the country is still is divided.
In an interview on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday, Kabogo said that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga is yet to heal the wounds among different groups of people in Kenya.
He noted that Kenyans still harbour some form of animosity among themselves because of the leadership style in the country.
"The country is still divided. The man who is able to speak and control huge crowds is Raila Odinga and he is in the handshake," he said.
Kabogo also said that Raila and Uhuru need to go an extra mile to ensure Kenya becomes a better country. He argued that the two leaders must work together to ensure they realise development and unity.
"President Uhuru and Raila Odinga know that they are in their sunset years in politics, they would not want to leave this country the way their father’s left it. Divided," he added.
The former county boss further noted that cases of runaway corruption have become rampant in the country, adding that the time has come for the government to act on graft.
Kabogo also revealed that he backs the handshake but only on matters of development.
