Mutambu says that judging by Uhuru's remarks during the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report on Wednesday, he might have it factored in the polished BBI report.

He based his opinion on Uhuru's statement that Members of Parliament should focus on legislation and let development be handled by their counterparts in the County Assemblies.

According to Mutambu, Uhuru might use his influence in the BBI task force to have the kitty scrapped off, before the release of the final document after public scrutiny.

"I have listened to the president's speech and he said that development should be carried out down there and MPs should focus on legislation in Nairobi. It appears CDF might be no more as BBI owners are planning to scrap it (Nimesikiliza hotuba ya rais na nimesikia nikama CDF huenda ikapotea maanake wenye BBI wana mipango ya kuitoa. Alisema maendeleo ibaki kule chini na wabunge waunde sheria Nairobi)," he said on Radio Citizen, Wednesday night.

But he pointed out that this might be the point of divergence between Uhuru and the BBI and MPs, most of whom have since declared support for the BBI suggestions.

According to Mutambu, MPs have used the kitty to make huge developmental strides in their constituencies, and scrapping it might see them declare war against the BBI.

"This CDF issue might result in problems between the president and MPs (Hii mambo ya CDF huenda ikaleta mushkil kati ya Rais na wabunge)," he cautioned.
