Two people have lost their lives, while several families displaced after a landslide happened in Kilungu area in Makueni County.
The incidence was confirmed by the Kenya Red Cross through their Twitter handle on Saturday afternoon.
''One house collapses, others reported to be at risk following mudslides in Kilungu, Makueni County. Red Cross response team at the scene assessing extent of damage,'' wrote Kenya Red Cross.
According to reports, this came after heavy rains in the area overnight.
Last year, a similar incidence happened in the same area, leaving more than 30 families homeless after River Muuoni burst its banks.
This comes just days after another mudslide happened in West Pokot killing more than 52 people with various families being displaced.
The MET Department has warned Kenyans of continued rains in the coming days.
''Kenya Risk Map Forecast. Areas likely to receive rainfall more than 50 mm include Kisii, Narok, Nyeri, Nakuru etc see key for those regions... These heavy rains are likely to cause flooding in low lying areas and mudslides in Mt. Kenya region and hilly areas of Western Kenya,'' said the MET Department through their Twitter handle.
People living in landslide prone areas have been asked to relocate to safer areas during this rainy season.
