Susan Adhiambo Otieno is alleged to have been killed by Joshua Obembi who reportedly inherited her after the death of her husband in 2014.

Residents said that they heard screams coming from the widow's house in Ogongo Tir Village in Lambwe, Homa Bay on Friday night, and found her murdered in the morning.

They said that during the attack, Obembi was heard accusing the woman of cheating. The woman was reportedly stabbed four times in the arm, mouth and shoulder.

The incident was confirmed by area chief Daniel Obure.

"Her body was lying in a pool of blood on the floor, the suspect had disappeared into the darkness when we got there,” he said, though the suspect has since been arrested.

The chief confirmed the love triangle, saying that the woman could have been involved with both the suspect and his brother, and he had warned her against both.

“There are reports that the two brothers were fighting over the women,” he added.

The suspect is being held at the Mbita Police Station while the body was moved to the Homa Bay County Hospital morgue.
