Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday morning, BBI taskforce Joint Secretary, Dr. Martin Kimani said that the reports are untrue.

Kimani said that claims are baseless and ill-motivated. He said that he was not an administrator of the report but he is certain that it cost less than the amount speculated.

“We did not have anywhere close to that amount of money (Ksh.10 billion)…I do not think we even had close to 1% of that figure,” he said.

Kimani also alluded that the amount that was used to prepare the whole report before it was presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga was not anything close to that.

He further asked the proponents of the rumors to desist from the same, saying they are only creating unnecessary tension.

During the launch of the report, President Kenyatta urged Kenyans and leaders to read and internalize the report before they can choose to back or reject the same at the end of the day.

Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto also reechoed his sentiments. The leaders have challenged Kenyans to embrace the report for the sake of the country's economic growth.
