Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed on Friday paid a courtesy call to Harambee Starlets at their residential training camp in Kasarani.
During her visit, the CS confirmed to the team that the government will support them financially as they prepare for the upcoming 2020 Olympics qualifiers.
The women national football team will travel to Zambia to play against their Shepolopolo, on 8th November.
Daily Nation reports that the Sports CS revealed that the Ministry will create a "suitable environment" for the national team to make sure they prepare for their matches.
Kenya proceeded to the fourth round of the 2020 Olympics in Toyko and the team coach David Ouma has expressed his hopes for the team doing even better.
On Tuesday, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa asked the team to break camp over financial crisis.
He noted that the team had suffered since the government was not funding them.
"If something does not change, we will not play Zambia. I do not know why the Principal Secretary Kirimi Kaberia does not fund us," said Mwendwa as quoted by Daily Nation.
He pointed out that the women national team has not been receiving funding from government.
The FKF boss cautioned that the team might not travel to Zambia if the government will not fund themwithin seven days.
