A Narok man is recovering from bite injuries after his wife allegedly bit off his lower lip.
Benson Onsongo says that the woman assaulted him on Monday night after he attempted to stop her from leaving for her parent's home in Kisii.
He alleges that the woman had initially told her of the plans, which she wanted to realize on Monday. He says that he urged her to postpone the trip to allow him to raise the transport money.
He claims that he was notified that she was about to end her life by drowning herself by jumping into a nearby river on Monday, which forced him to head back home from work.
Upon reaching the scene, he says, he tried to talk her into changing her mind, which apparently irked her, after which she allegedly bit off the lip.
Mr Onsongo says that the 27-year-old as well bit his hand and stomach after a disagreement ensued, which later grew into a quarrel, according to the Citizen Digital.
The victim was rushed to the Narok County Referral Hospital after undergoing first aid service at the Talek Health Center, with medics at the facility confirming the incident.
According to Priscilla Mwarigi, a nurse at the county health facility, the victim who completely lost the lip, is in a stable condition.
