Members of the fourth estate have mourned Ms Ann Kamoni, a former photographer in various media houses in the country among them Nation Media Group.
Kamoni, who died on Sunday, worked also for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the official photographer before leaving for Kajiado County goverment.
According to Junet Mohamed's aide Seth Odongo, Kamoni once collapsed at Orange House and had been struggling with her health since then.
Journalists from various media houses paid tributes to her, lauding her as one of the best photojournalists of her time.
“She will be greatly missed. She was sprightly with an infectious smile. She was a photographer par excellence and her contribution to the trade cannot be gainsaid. May she rest in peace,” said Daily Nation News Editor Francis Wanyonyi.
“Ann was a jovial person, always ready to greet you with a smile. She was hardworking, with a bright future ahead of her. It’s unfortunate that she has left us so soon,” said Daily Nation Political and Parliamentary Editor Lucas Barasa.
“She loved listening to Judy Boucher Sadly she will never listen to that again Fare thee well Ann Kamoni This still looks like a bad dream,” said Don Victor.
According to Seth Odongo, Ann survived with a daughter. Burial plans are underway and the ODM party has pledged to help the family.
She was recruited to Capitol Hill in 2016 and was one of the photographers who covered ODM functions across the country during campaigns.
