Manyora says chances are high that the president will stick to his union with former premier Raila Odinga to the polls, dropping his (Raila) leading rival Ruto in the process.

In a video uploaded on YouTube on Saturday, he observed that Uhuru might after all strike a political deal with Raila, which might cost Ruto who is eyeing to succeed him in 2022.

According to Manyora, should Uhuru and Raila unite, it would be very hard for the DP to win any votes in Uhuru's Mt Kenya backyard, predicting that it will go to Raila, making the presidential race a nightmare for Ruto.

"It becomes complicated for Ruto and Christmas for Raila because it will be very difficult for Uhuru to remain in an arrangement with Ruto in power," he said in his Take It or Leave It channel.

He noted that it will be easier for Raila to swipe across the region with Uhuru by his side, as the Central Kenya block will only vote to the side where they appear well represented and their interests taken care of.

"My in-laws from the mountain may support Raila Odinga in an arrangement where they have a serious stake," added the commentator.

But he added that this will depend on political dynamics and Uhuru's approach towards shifting the region's support from Ruto, whom he (Uhuru) promised to support in 2013 and 2017.

He opined that with Ruto already enjoying massive support, it might be easy shifting the region to Raila's favour or hard, depending on how Uhuru and anti-Ruto forces do the job.

This comes at a time when a section of Ruto's allies, led by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) have been heard accusing Uhuru of dumping Ruto for Raila.
