The musician-turned-politician was arrested on Wednesday following controversial remarks he made against foreigners doing business in the county.

According to Bahati, one mistake should not define who Jaguar is.

“Being the First Kenyan Musician in Parliament; You have Been an Inspiration to the Youth of this Country. One Mistake Cannot Rub-off your GREATNESS!!! And that's Why I stood With You in Court,” the youthful musician wrote on Instagram.

Bahati believes the remarks made by Jaguar stemmed from the passion he had for the people of Nairobi.

“You Did it for the Passion You have for your People so this too Shall Pass-- The Lessons You're Learning Today Will make You Greater in the Future. IT'S WELL IN JESUS NAME,” he noted.

Bahati is one of the few celebrities to publicly declare their support for Jaguar who will now have to spend five more days in police custody.

The MP was a popular secular artist when he joined politics. He is most remembered for his hit songs like ‘Kigeugeu’ and ‘Take it slow’.
