Makadara lawmaker George Aladwa has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta now likes ODM leader Raila Odinga more than Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking on Radio Jambo on Saturday, the ODM MP purported that Uhuru prefers Raila more, as he is the only avenue through which Uhuru can realise changes through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
He noted that Raila has the support base needed to realise the changes and has also demonstrated his readiness to work with Uhuru, as opposed to the DP who has actually been making it hard for him (Uhuru) to work.
"Asked about who he loves most, Uhuru would pick Raila because he has supporters, the other one is just roaming around (Ukiuliza Uhuru saa hii anapenda nani atachagua Raila kwa sababu ako na watu. Huyu mwingine anatangatanga tu)," he said on Mazungumzo Waziwazi show.
About the changes likely to be proposed when the BBI report is presented to Uhuru on Tuesday, Aladwa said that he would push for Uhuru's remain in power after 2022.
He said that if the proposal will include an expansion of the executive, he will root for Uhuru to take the Prime Minister slot, saying that he has a right to remain in power in a different capacity.
"If possible, let Uhuru hold the Prime Minister seat for the next five years. He has a right to remain in power in a different capacity (Kama kuna uwezekano Uhuru kupata kiti ya Prime Minister kwa miaka tano ni sawa. Ako na haki ya kuendelea kuwa kwa mamlaka kupitia kwa cheo nyingine)," he added.
He said that those fighting the BBI, in reference to Ruto's allies, are doing it to fight Raila, claiming that they don't want him anywhere in power, owing to his bad blood with Ruto.
