Former Starehe parliamentary aspirant Steve Mbogo has thrown his weight behind Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Imran Okoth ahead of the Kibra by-election.
In a post on his Facebook page, Mbogo noted that Imran was the best suited candidate for the seat.
“Kibra is an ODM zone and next MP will be Imran. Mariga should continue betting, Prezzo should continue composing Sunday school songs and Owalo should continue importing female hair from Brazil. Imran Okoth for Kibra,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Tuesday cleared Imran, ANC candidate Eliud Owalo and a number of other candidates to contest in the November 7 by-election.
Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga was on Tuesday denied clearance by IEBC to contest for the seat, after it emerged that his name was not in the voters' register.
He has, however, filed an appeal with the IEBC disputes tribunal.
Kibra is perceived to be an ODM zone, therefore giving advantage to Imran ahead of the November contest.
The kibra seat was left vacant following the death of Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer in July.
