Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho has officially opened the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital Chaani Outreach Centre in Changamwe Sub-county.
In a quest for quality healthcare at grassroots levels within the county, the county government of Mombasa opened an centre at Changemwe that would ensure residents access health facility within their locality.
Taking to Twitter account on Wednesday morning, Joho said similar centres have been set up in different sub-counties.
"In expanding accessibility to quality healthcare at the grassroots, I officially opened the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital Chaani Outreach Centre in Changamwe Sub-county. Similar centres have been constructed in Vikwatani, Mtongwe and Shika Adabu wards," he tweeted.
The county boss added that his government will be focusing on health matters that will lead to improved productivity amongest residents.
"The centres are fully equipped with laboratory services, maternity, female and male wards, antenatal and postnatal services. My government will continue prioritizing quality and affordable healthcare, since a "healthy nation leads to a productive nation"," he added.
Joho also rewarded health volunteers within the county with free medical covers for themselves and their family for what they have putting in deliveriy health services to the residents.
"I also issued medical cover insurance to 1500 Community Health Volunteers and their families from across the County, an incentive for their selfless efforts in promoting public health at the grassroots," he said.
