ODM party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has said he will not contest in the forthcoming Kibra by-election.
Sifuna was present on Sunday when ODM unveiled candidates who have expressed interest in replacing the late Ken Okoth.
"Trying to run is what you did in 2017. When I want something I'll say it myself, not through media. Plus lessons are welcome, I'm still teachable. You are unwell. Just take your prescriptions so you don't see my ghost everywhere," Sifuna posted.
His declaration came after controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna warned Sifuna against contesting. He alleged that the ODM Secretary-General will not win due to alleged involvement in the saga that surrounded Okoth's burial.
"Sifuna: Don't even try to run. You have consistently gave out your name to the mediocre press that you are. If you try to run, the people will teach you a lesson for cremating Ken Okoth like a dog. Finally, even Moi claimed that Prof. Wangari Maathai was mad. Doesn't mean a thing," Miguna tweeted.
The two engaged in a bitter exchange of words on Twitter with each trying to prove the other's leadership deficiencies.
