Political analyst Dismas Mokua has dismissed Saturday's Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) forum held in Kakamega, terming it a political rally.
He observes that the function was merely a political event organized by the ODM party with the support of the Jubilee government, and had nothing to do with the BBI.
According to him, the fact that the BBI taskforce has just had its term extended by President Uhuru Kenyatta, after which it has not done much, makes the meeting questionable.
Mokua notes that the decision by the event organizers to hold the function, yet the final BBI report is not yet out, makes it merely a political convention without any significance.
According to Mokua, the fact that no member of the BBI taskforce was seen there further confirms his argument.
"A BBI meeting us supposed to be organized by Ambassador Kimani and Paul Mwangi. This was a meeting of BBI supporters, it was an ODM meeting marinated by the Jubilee government," he said on KTN's Inside Politics on Sunday.
He also faulted the politicians who attended the function to declare their support for the BBI report, wondering what report they were referring to yet the final one is not yet out.
According to him, more of such should be expected, especially now that more leaders are organizing more such events, with the next one slated for Mombasa next Saturday.
"This is going to happen every single day. When people are saying we are supporting BBI, what are they supporting? We don't have a final document," he opined.
The meeting was the second of such kind, after the last Friday's Nyanza region edition, which was held in Kisii county.
