Okoth Nairobi Members of County Assembly (MCAs) allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Amolo have promised to pitch tents in various parts of Kibra to ensure their candidate Imran Okoth bags the seat.
Led by their Minority Leader Elias Otieno, the legislators have exuded confidence in Imran amid bungled nominations claims.
The leaders have said that they will stand with the ODM nominee until he emerges victorious in the contest, which is scheduled to take place on November 7.
He also said that the MCAs will hit the ground running with immediate effect.
“Our candidate is Bernard Imran Okoth and Kibra belongs to ODM, so those other people are just tourists. Starting today you are going to see these MCAs campaign for Imran,” said the Minority Leader.
Otieno also dismissed earlier indications that some of the MCAs have promised to support Amani National Congress (ANC) candidate Eliud Owalo.
Otieno had hinted that he could led some of the leaders towards Musalia Mudavadi’s camp when he attended a burial in Vihiga County last month.
He asked his team to ignore the remarks he had made, arguing that now they have direction after the party agreed on a candidate to go for the seat when that time comes
