This comes amid claims that the DP has been switching stands in a number of national issues, among them President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive against early politicking.

Ruto has been denying claims of engaging in early campaigns as his allies continue to drum up support for his 2022 presidential bid, at times in his presence.

Cheruiyot argued that contrary to claims that the DP has been wavering on his stand he remains very firm in what he believes, likening his consistency to the sunrise.

"If there are two consistent things in this country; it's sunrise and DP William Ruto," he said on NTV's AM Live show on Tuesday morning.

However, on his side, Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo observed that the case is actually different and the DP has been making varying remarks.

He added that consequently, the DP's supporters are suffering as a result of his ever-changing faces.

"Unfortunately, the changing faces of the DP reflect negatively on his supporters. The DP has perfected the art of changing faces," said the lawmaker.
