Renowned blogger and digital strategist Dennis Itumbi has hit out at at Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, over a statement he released on the Naivasha retreat held by a section of legislators from the party.
In the statement, Tuju noted that the Naivasha retreat was not a Jubilee Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting, as it was not convened by the oarty leader President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He further noted that the resolutions made by the legislators cannot be termed the party's position.
"For the avoidance of doubt, this is to clarify that such a meeting cannot and will never qualify to be referred to as a Parliamentary Group (PG) of the party. Any resolutions of any meeting not convened in accordance with the provisions of the party constitution are therefore not official party resolutions," he said.
Reacting to Tuju's statement, Itumbi noted that the legislators discussed issues around the BBI, adding that the Naivasha retreat had nothing to do with a Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting.
"Mr Tuju Raphael, what exactly are you reacting to? Just checked the official statement from Naivasha. Nothing about Jubilee PG, it is all building bridges. Statement read by a Ford Kenya legislator from Bungoma! A Jubilee SG reacting to unofficial chatter and avoiding the official?" Itumbi tweeted.
