Four people have been admitted at Mutomo Mission Hospital after they were involved in early morning accident at Kyaani Market along Kibwezi-Mutomo road in Ikutha Sub County.

The accident involved two bodabodas who were ferrying their customers to different destinations.

The OCPD for Ikutha Sub County Clifford Nyaga confirmed the accident and urged bodabodas in the area to observe traffic rules to avoid such incidents in the future.

“The accident occurred at Kyaani Market and involved two bodabodas and their customers. One of the riders broke his leg and the rest received minor injuring and were rushed to Mutomo Mission Hospital for treatment. The rider and their customers had no helmets hence they received minor injuries on their heads,” said Nyaga.

“The two riders also lacked valid licenses at the time of the accident. I urge all the bodaboda riders to take the necessary safety measures and acquires licenses and also obtain insurance covers for their bikes,” added Nyaga.

The motorbikes were taken to Ikutha police station as police investigate the accident.
