The Brazilian right-back suffered a knee ligament injury during a Les Herbiers vs PSG finals game and was ruled out for about 8 months of active football, therefore rendering him unfit to participate in the world cup.

Lars stindl

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

After starting on a wrong foot, the Liverpool signed player had shown great improvement and was on course to play in the world cup before a knee ligament damage in a game against AS Roma forced him to undergo surgery and a subsequent rule out for 9 months, therefore missing world cup.

Laurent Koscielny

In what would have been arguably his last world cup appearance, the 32-year-old France defender was ruled out for at least 6 months after he ruptured his Achilles tendon during a match in which his club arsenal played against Atletico Madrid.
