our police officers were arrested over the weekend for releasing illegal immigrants from Ethiopia.
Above the arrests, the four will also be interdicted for allegedly taking a Sh128,000 bribe.
Confirming the development, Nyeri County Directorate of Criminal Investigation boss Bridget Kanyai revealed that the officers have already been released pending further investigations.
Ms Kanyai added that the four will not be arraigned in court until the probe is over in a week's time.
“We have established two offences against the officers. One is bribery and the other is aiding prisoners to escape. They are at their work stations but they will be interdicted,” said Ms Kanyai.
