The 2022 succession politics debate is raging out as politicians lobby for partnerships and endorsements.
Once such politician is Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Kalonzo has declared interest in the 2022 presidential seat saying he is fit enough to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Last week, the former Vice President bid received a big boost after being endorsed by a section of Kamba leaders.
Kalonzo has even hinted on re-branding his Wiper party to One Kenya Movement (OKM) ahead of 2022.
According to political analysts, Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential dream will come true if he works or seeks partnership with the following four politicians:
1. Uhuru Kenyatta
He is the President serving his second and final term on Jubilee Party ticket.
Uhuru has openly said that he will not hang onto politics after term comes to an end in 2022.
The president has promised to support his Deputy William Ruto ascend to power after his term in 2022.
Kalonzo could approach Uhuru and convince him to back his bid in partnership with DP Ruto.
DP Ruto has been wooing the Wiper party leader to join Jubilee.
2.Gideon Moi
He is the Baringo senator serving his second term on KANU party ticket.
He is also the Kanu chairman and commands a huge following in the Rift Valley region.
Moi has declared interest in the 2022 presidential election with political analyst agreeing that a partnership with Kalonzo could sale and guarantee them power.
3. Hassan Joho
He is the Mombasa governor and coast region political kingpin.
Joho is also ODM deputy party leader and has declared interest in the 2022 presidential election.
Kalonzo could seek Joho’s support ahead of 2022 with a grantee of Coast region votes.
There are however claims that Joho could partner with DP Ruto.
4. Musalia Mudavadi
He is the Amani National Congress (ANC) Party leader and has fallen out with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Mudavadi alongside Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula have vowed to teach Raila a political lesson he will never forget for betraying them.
Political analyst Peter Ngure argues that Kalonzo could take advantage of the Raila-Mudavadi-Wetangula fallout to seek Luhya support ahead of 2022.
With 2022 political lobbying intensifying, Kamba politicians have vowed to work tirelessly to ensure Kalonzo ascends to power.
Kalonzo is however likely to suffer a blow as his critic, Governor Alfred Mutua has also declared interest in the top seat.
Mutua has since dismissed Kalonzo’s endorsement by a section of Kamba leaders terming it as fake.u
