Marriage is a sacred institution and the Bible states that whatever God has put together no man shall put asunder. And although the Bible does not entertain divorce, it allows it in extreme cases such as unfaithfulness. Therefore, it is okay to give up on your marriage if you are guaranteed that it shall never work however hard you try to make it work.
Making up one's mind on whether to divorce or stay is yet another difficult hurdle to jump. However, you can watch out for these signs to help you determine if it's the perfect time to ask for a divorce or you should give your marriage another chance.
Unfaithfulness
Even the Bible condemns unfaithfulness and clearly cites that the marriage bed should be respected by all. If one party becomes unfaithful, it is a clear sign that there is no respect and trust in that marriage. Without the two-trust and respect, any marriage is bound to fail and if you feel so hurt that you cannot take it anymore, it may be time to quit.
Abuse
Sadly, some people will stay in abusive marriages for fear of being victimized by the society while others just stick around for the sake of the children. Therefore, if it's not working, don't force it.

You have probably talked to both of your parents, visited several marriage counselors and it's still not working. You might have even talked to your pastor and everything is still the same. This is a crystal clear sign that your marriage is bound to fail and it's the best time you take a divorce unless the heavens intervene.

This is whereby one partner is seeking intimacy while the other seeks distance. If your partner doesn't take notice of your efforts to make your marriage work, it's a sign that he is no longer interested and you had better ask for a divorce before things got worse.
