Normal pregnancy

This is where the male gametes (sperms) meet and fertilize the female gamete (egg) in the fallopian tube. The fertilized egg then moves to the uterus where the embryo develops. The gestation period in humans is 9 months though there are a few cases where the delivery can come earlier or later than 9 months.

Ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is also called Tubal pregnancy. It occurs when the fertilized egg plants itself in another place outside the uterus. In most cases, the fertilized egg remains in the fallopian tube. Ectopic pregnancy normally does not last until delivery time. It is one of the main cause of miscarriages in pregnant women. In extreme cases, it is fatal.

Molar pregnancy

Molar pregnancy occurs when there is an abnormal growth of tissues (trophoblasts) within the uterus which arises due to pregnancy. According to a health site www.americanpregnancy.org, it is as a result of a genetic error during fertilization. Molar pregnancy also does not survive until delivery time. It is miscarried in the first trimester.

Chemical pregnancy

This is a type of pregnancy where the miscarriage takes place very early (before the fifth week). The sperm manages to fertilize the egg but the fertilized egg does not survive. According to www.verywellfamily.com, chemical pregnancy affects 75% of all pregnancies.
