A man aged 40 years old was yesterday charged for having fraudulently acquired Ksh. 1 million from Peter Ombasa saying that he was in a position to sell him the 2 acre piece of land.
Adams Makori was charged with making fake title deeds in the names of Benjamin Okwoyo, saying that it was the genuine and signed by the Nyamira Lands registrar. Makori is accused of having committed the offence on the 6th of October last year at the Nyambene House.
The court was told that Makori had told Ombasa had been sent by his father to talk to him about the 2 acre piece of land which was in Nyamira County.
Makori allegedly told Ombasa that they wanted to sell the land so that they can meet the medical fees that their mother who was ailing required inorder to be taken to india.
Makori denied all the charges and was released on a Ksh 300,000 bail or Ksh. 500,000 bond.
The trial will begin on the 4th of March.
