Residents of Machakos County were on Thursday left in deep shock after a body of a 40-year-old woman was retrieved from a septic tank in Tala market.
According to The Star, the body of the deceased, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was discovered by the residents who later on informed police officers from Matungulu sub-county.
Confirming the incident, Tala OCS James Njiiri said that the victim’s body was discovered with the hands tied using a rope. Njiiri called upon the residents to cover their septic tanks to avoid such incidents in the near future.
He further reminded residents who have dug holes in their homes to cover them during the rainy season to avoid accidents that are likely to claim more lives.
The deceased’s body was transferred to Kangundo Hospital mortuary as police launch investigation behind the incident.
The police are yet to arrest any suspect in relation to the suspicious death of the woman.
