Tension is high in DP Ruto Uasin Gishu backyard after more than 400 losers in Jubilee primaries threatened to forfeit the party over what they termed as internal interference.
The politicians traced their dissatisfaction to the nomination process of the party where they claimed powerful politicians in the region overlooked them and proposed their girlfriends and reletives for the slots.
“We cannot accept the list that is full of mipango ya kando (girlfriends) and friends of some people yet those of us who worked for the party, and even paid nomination fees, have been left out," said spokesman Phillip Chebunet.
They also want President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto to intervene.
“If they don’t consider our grievances, we will withdraw our support for party candidates and advise our supporters to make different decisions," he added.
He addressed the press in Eldoret on Tuesday, accompanied by aspirants including Daniel Kemei, Nancy Chepsiya and Abraham Mutwol.
