More than 4000 squatters are at the risk of being evicted from a 130-acre piece of land in Kiambu.
According to National Land Commission Chairman Muhamed Swazuri the vast piece of land belongs to Kenyatta University.
Swazuri has said that the Commission has all the necessary documentations to prove KU's ownership of the land. "This land was acquired through corrupt means but we are saying anyone with any documentation to prove allocation to bring those documents to our offices for scrutiny", said Swazuri when he visited the land in Kiambu yesterday.
Swazuri said they will not be allocating the land afresh and will just revert it to the original owner. "This was Kenyatta university 3 Billion children's hospital project and we will allow them to use their land", he added.
However, some of those bound for eviction like Paul Mugo says that they were allocated the land through a just and fair means. "We have the title deeds and we will be going to court to challenge the eviction",Mugo said.
