FKF General Secretary, CEO Robert Muthomi, has refuted claims by Sofapaka FC CEO, and a section of media reports that he forced Harambee Stars striker, John Avire to terminate his contract with Sofapaka FC.
Responding on a letter from Sofapaka chairman, Elly Kalekwa to the FKF president, Nick Mwendwa; where Kalekwa claimed that Muthomi was involved in organizing the transfer of John Avire.
And in addition, following the publication of the very 'claims' by a section the local news media, Muthomi termed the allegations as, 'ill-informed, ignorant, malicious and aimed at denting his reputation and that of FKF as an institution.'
Muthomi noted that while as a CEO and the General Secretary of FKF, he expects criticism to bound, and though they rarely call for a response, albeit it was good that he comes out clean on this accusation in the spirit of openness.
"I emphatically deny the allegations made against me that I have coerced John Avire to terminate his contract with Sofapaka FC, and owing to the seriousness of the claims; I welcome the FKF president's call for further investigation into the matter," stated Robert Muthomi in a presser.
He exuded confidence, that he will be vindicated in the end once the investigation is done.
Muthomi further, noted that he was consulting his legal counsel to help remedy his violated repute if need be.
