DP Ruto, according to the survey published by Standard, holds the same rank with ODM party leader and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who 10 per cent of the respondents termed the man they love and admire most in Kenya.

7 per cent of Kenyans named their parents; mother and fathers as their role models, with controversial rapper Kennedy Ombima alias King Kaka emerging fifth at 4 per cent.

King Kaka has been on the spotlight since the release of his hard-hitting "Wajinga Nyinyi" (you fools) spoken word, where he is bashing Kenyans for their poor electoral decisions.

He was ranked one percentage above Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i who appeared sixth, with three per cent.

Surprisingly, members of the clergy appeared last with only one per cent of the respondents naming them and religious leaders as their role models.

This is despite the fact that Kenyans are ranked among the most religious people in the world, judging by previous surveys.

Actually, in 2016, 86 per cent of Kenyans admitted that "religion is very important in their lives", according to a survey conducted by USA's Pew Research Center.
